Webinar | People and Pandemic: A U-turn on returning to work and the new Job Support Scheme
As a result of the Government’s recent announcements regarding the pandemic we changed the focus of our panel session to what companies should be considering in light of the Government’s U-turn on working from home and the new Job Support Scheme.
In this virtual panel discussion our employment team and guest speaker, Charly Fisher, HR and Talent Director at Analogfolk, shared their views and collective experience of some of the different workplace models emerging at this stage in the pandemic, the pros, cons, pitfalls and how to mitigate them, including:
- Where are we now when it comes to returning to work? What do the latest Government instructions say, and mean in practice? How are employers and employees reacting to the latest guidance?
- What is the new Job Support Scheme? What are the new “dos and don’ts”? How do you manage the transition from a part-furloughed workforce into the new schemes and what risks should you be alive to?
- What are the unintended consequences of the Government U-turn and Job Support Scheme?
- How are the Government U-turn and the new Job Support Scheme impacting return to work strategies, in particular redundancy programmes that are already underway or have recently completed?
- The challenges of moving from a short-term “fix” to a long-term strategy. What might have been acceptable when the end was in sight is unlikely to be fit for purpose now. What do employers need to consider when it comes to longer-term remote working, including the challenges of remote communication, increased Health & Safety obligations, the impact on employee morale and wellbeing, the risk to business data and confidential information and staff policy considerations.
- What are the potential implications for maintaining company culture and employee engagement?
